Do you ever get a song stuck in your head? I often do especially when I am brainstorming a project. I was thinking about summer, the ocean, sea shells then the song began playing in my head. “Circle in the Sand” a song about never ending love. I needed to make my own circle.
Step 1: The first thing I did was decide how large to make my circle. I had some spools I was about to recycle. I played with each one to see what size I liked. Combine molding putty according to package directions and press spool in to putty. Allow to sit for 20 minutes. This will make your mold.
Step 2: Find small shells and sit them inside the mold. Mix ICE Resin® according to instructions. Add ICE Resin tint of your choice. Begin with just a drop or two and add more for a deeper color. Once mixed , spoon ICE Resin in the mold.
Step 3: Once cured add the chain. I decided to use a length of chain and jump ring at the top to make a bail. Use another length of chain at the bottom and attach smaller bits of chain to form a tassel. Cut 16 inch length of ICE Resin leather cord. Slide through jump ring and attach end caps. Secure end caps with ICE Resin leather adhesive. Once adhesive is dry, attach lobster claw clasp. If your circle has any rough spots, use sanding block to smooth them out. Any large bubbles you missed? No problem. Add a small pearl with a dot of E600. Bubble gone. Now you have a necklace perfect for the beach.
