Do you have a collection of seashells and wonder what you could do with them? If you have some small shells they are great for creating jewelry. A couple of years ago we took a family vacation to Florida and we went to a beautiful beach on Honeymoon Island. We found so many shells while we were at the beach. Some were whole and some just bits and pieces. If you don’t have any shells from the beach you can also purchase shells at most craft stores. With a beautiful mix of sand, crystal opals, charms, shells, a touch of color and ICE Resin® you can create your own sunken treasures necklaces.
Step 1: To start, mix a small amount of sand and Ice Resin Opals, Crystal Opal in a bowl.
Step 2: Mix ICE Resin® according to instructions. Then pour the mixture of Crystal Opals and sand into one of the measuring cups. Add a small amount of resin and mix. Add just enough resin so the Opals and sand will stick together.
Step 3: Place the silicone mold on the ICE Resin® Studio Sheet. Then start adding the Crystal Opal, sand and resin mixture to the molds. Fill the mold about halfway.
Step 4: Add a charm to the center of the mold and place the shells around the bottom.
Step 5: Fill the remaining part of the mold with ICE Resin®. Squeeze a couple drops of ICE Resin® Tints, Turquoise onto the Studio Sheet. Using a ICE Resin brush, pick up the color and lightly tap on top of the resin. Then use a toothpick to swirl the color around a little bit. Set aside to dry and cure. Once the resin has cured you can easily remove the piece from the mold.
Step 6: To create the necklace I added some aqua crystals with spacer beads and some pearl rosary chain.
While I had all of my supplies out I created a couple extra pieces.
Here is a close up of the turtle necklace. For this one I kept it simple and just added a chain.
Here is a close up of the seahorse necklace. For this necklace I added a few aqua crystals and white AB crystals.
Thank you so much for joining me today!
