I love to experiment and find different uses for what I have. My friend Misty sent me a pair of charms that I thought would be perfect for such a thing. A small place to try a stamp on clay technique and see what would happen!
Step 1: Mix small equal parts of the Apoxie sculpt medium following the instructions.
Step 2: Settle the small bit inside each metal finding.
Step 3: Find your favorite part in Dina’s roses from the Homage to Frida and lightly press the Apoxie over the stamp. Easy and effective!
Step 4: Since you don’t need to wait for the Apoxie to dry before you paint it, give it a coat of White Gesso to prep it for the painting.
Step 5: Using a watercolor brush take small amounts from the Scribble Stick and increase as you see fit on the painting. The rose will start taking shape if you use the darker color in the center.
Step 6: Let it dry and then add the Crystal Opal flakes. These ICE Resin Opals make a world of difference yet you only need just a small amount for a wow factor!
Step 7: Mix ICE Resin® according to instructions and instead of pouring you’re going to use your mixing tool to lightly go over in a painting motion. Remember this is not a vessel you just want to seal and give dimension to your stamped piece. After it dries you can do another coat to let the resin give it a nice dome.
Step 8: Use your pliers and jewelry findings to turn them into a perfect pair of earrings and enjoy the moment!
