  • School is back in session, football games on the weekend and a slight nip in the air. Fall is on its way soon. What we might call “Sweater Weather.” When I think of sweaters, I immediately think of texture. Nubby, delicious texture. Ice Resin can take many different forms. Today I want to show you a way to achieve texture.

Many of my projects come from an “Uh Oh” moment. I also hate waste. One day I got heavy handed with the Ice Resin and over filled a mold. The next day I peeled the resin away from the form and rolled it up. I realized it was a very appealing shape. So I decided to experiment.

Step 1: Mix ICE Resin® according to instructions. Mix up Ice Resin according to directions and over fill a mold. Or if you want to create your own “spill” spread some Ice Resin on a craft sheet. You can add tint or glitter directly to your resin. Allow to dry overnight.

Step 2: Peel resin from craft sheet while it is still pliable and roll in to desired shape. Next use a large piece of Styrofoam and pin your resin to the foam.

Step 3: This will keep the resin from unrolling while it cures. Cure for three days.

Step 4: Next prepare your bezel with Iced Enamels. Allow bezel to cool. Place resin rolls in bezel and drop resin in to the bottom of the bezel. Only use enough to hold rolls in place. Allow to cure three days.

Step 5: Add chain, beads or any other add ons and you will have texture galore.
