I love jewelry. But since I have so much and see so much, I want what I wear to be unique. So when it came time to make myself some new festive earrings, I had to brainstorm. What could be unique, lightweight (I will be out shopping after all) and of course made with Ice Resin? This little Tannenbaum is the perfect fit.
Step 1: Find the color of Alcohol Ink you want to make your tree. I decided on Bottle. I find it easiest to mark the side of my cup before I pour my resin in so I can get my measurement just right.
Step 2: Mix ICE Resin® according to instructions then add your Alcohol Ink little by little until you get your desired color.
Step 3: Next, use your “spatula” that comes with the Ice Resin cups and spread steaks of resin on your Studio Sheet. Make sure to try to vary sizes because you will end up stacking these little dabs of resin.
Step 4: Once resin is dry to the touch, gather your headpins and push through the center of your resin. Using the headpin will make the perfect size hole once the resin is cured. Stick pin in Styrofoam and allow to cure for three days.
Step 5: Now for the part I like most. Gather together assorted beads and jewelry findings to assemble earrings. What would look best on your tree? Red? Maybe a dash of purple? Anything goes. Take headpin and begin with a tall bead as the trunk. Next add a green Ice Resin disk, then a bead, then a disk and so on. Finally top the tree with a star bead. Finish with fish hook wires and your
earrings are ready to wear.
Step 6: These are so fun, why not make a bunch for gifts for all your friends?
