The new Rune bezels make me swoon. I love them. I got my hands on some and thought the edges of the bezel would be great for me to attach something, but what? I frequent art/craft shows and weaving is making a comeback. Since this old practice is becoming popular again I had to try it on the bezel.
Step 1: Begin with a sheet of Yupo paper. This is a synthetic paper that loves Alcohol Ink and Ice Resin Tints. Gather your favorite colors together and make a design on the Yupo Paper. I used a Tim Holtz blending tool, Distress Crayons and Alcohol Blending Solution to get the design I was looking for. Dry ink with a heat tool.
Step 2: Next get a piece of 20ga wire. I used a length of wire approximately 36 inches long.
Begin by wrapping wire around the top of the bezel to secure it.
Step 3: Form a loop with the wire and wrap wire under the edge of the bezel. Continue with this until you have gone around the entire bezel.
Step 4: Next take another 36 inches of the same wire and add another layer of loops around the edge of the bezel.
This will create a free form edge of wire. I was not fussy about perfection because I wanted a loose, doodle feeling.
Step 5: Mix ICE Resin® according to instructions and apply a small amount to your Yupo paper shape. This will help secure it to the bottom of the bezel and alleviate bubbles. Once this is down, add resin to bezel. Allow to cure for three days.
To finish my pendant, I made dangles with beads from other projects. Attach dangles to the bottom of the bezel with jump rings. Finally use Ice Resin leather to make the necklace really stand out. You will have everyone who sees it wrapped around your finger.
