The large open space of the Rune Shield bezel is a perfect canvas to create a memorable photo collage. You can use ephemera and paper dolls as I did here or add photos of friends or loved ones.
Step 1: First, I like to begin by assembling all my collage items together. After looking at each one I ended up really liking a couple of images from the Tim Holtz paper dolls pack. Then I found some scrapbook paper and used the Rune bezel template to make the background.
Step 2: Next, take the paper dolls and along with Ice Resin Ephemera pages, audition where you would like all of your elements to be within your bezel. I then chose the word “Remembrance” from the Tim Holtz chit chat word stickers.
Step 3: I used packing tape to seal the images. ICE Resin makes a wonderful paper sealant but in this case I had so many layers I went with packing tape. Sandwich the papers between two pieces of packing tape. Use a bone folder to flatten tape down over image. Use scissors to trim away excess tape. I like the leave a very tiny amount of tape on the edge to ensure that the resin has no way to get in. Set this aside.
Step 4: I wanted to add a pop of color to the bezel itself. To do this I put a small amount of Pacific Ocean Luster and dabbed some on the “dots” of the bezel.
Step 5: Once dry I added a tiny bit of Christmas Red Stickles on top of that.
Step 6: With all of the bezel embellishments dry, mix ICE Resin® according to instructions. Brush on a small amount of Ice Resin on the back of your image. This will help reduce bubbles in your finished work.
Step 7: Once the image is flat, drizzle another layer of Ice Resin in bezel. Since I love glitter, I could not resist sprinkling some in on top of the resin.
Step 8: Finally, don’t forget to brush on a dot of resin to your bezel paint and Stickles. Allow to cure for three days.
Step 9: Once cured, I decided to use ICE Resin findings with some red and cream- colored cord for the necklace. Cut desired length of cord and attach end caps with ICE Resin leather adhesive. Allow to dry. Add jump rings and hook. Your fitting tribute of remembrance is now complete.
