There’s a bakers side of me you may not know of, I enrolled in a Christmas bread class and while waiting for the class I went to check out the store. Ha! The trainer in me immediately found something I could use in the specialty decoration area, a silicone mold! Can you imagine my brain juggling the class and all the things I wanted to create with resin not frosting!
Step 1: Initially I thought about making earrings, so I mixed ICE Resin® according to instructions, and poured twice on my mold. Once the resin cures they pop easily out of the mold. I used alcohol inks to paint them and was just awed at the result!
Step 2: Then I looked at my pretty Christmas tree and new it would be a shame to drill so I had to figure out a plan B. I measured it inside a bezel and a Christmas story unraveled before my eyes! So I used a piece of Yupo and painted a snowy background and measured and cut my background. Using the paper sealer I coated underneath my paper and over it and then gently placed my tree on top. Using the opals I created the snow falling and accumulating around the tree trunk.
Step 3: Mix another batch of resin and gently pour inside. I didn’t affix my tree beforehand. Adjust the “flurries” to your liking!
Step 3: For the leather necklace. I like mine with a double strand. Just the smallest drop of Ice Resin leather glue is enough. Connect the leather to the finding and let dry. Once it dries attach the clasp and you’re ready to wear your new pendant.
