Step 1: Working on an ICE Resin Studio Sheet, use a brush to paint Dina Wakley MEdia Black Gesso into the bezel, covering the bottom and the sides. Dry with a Ranger Heat It Craft Tool. Apply another two coats if necessary (drying the layers in between) to cover the metal completely. Be careful the metal will get hot! Let cool completely.
Step 2: Using Dylusions Paint Pens draw designs onto clear acetate. Read & follow package directions to start the ink flow in the pens. Make sure your designs will fit into the bezel by placing the acetate over the bezel to measure. You can also draw directly onto the painted bottom of the bezel. Use a light touch and be careful not to scrape the paint off the bezel. (This area will be the background.) Tip: if a pen tip dries, dip the point in water, then press it lightly onto a scrap of paper to get it flowing again. Keep a piece of scrap paper on the side to scribble a bit to establish an even flow. Let your designs dry completely. Cut out individual designs.
Step 3: Adhere acetate inside the bezel, creating depth by using small pieces of clear foam tape to raise the designs. Another method is to adhere the bottom of a leaf or stem to the bezel with Leather Adhesive, let it dry, then place a small piece of clear foam underneath the top design to raise that piece up. Be sure that all pieces are adhered. ICE Resin wants to make pieces float.
Step 4: Mix ICE Resin® according to instructions, allow the indicated wait time. Drizzling ICE Resin with a Stir Stick, slowly fill the bezel with ICE Resin. Allow resin to flow underneath all the pieces of acetate.
Step 5: Attach your bezels to a bracelet, necklace, zipper pull or anything you choose! Experiment with this technique to make all sorts of layers in many different ICE Resin projects! Have fun & enjoy!
