No matter how you pronounce it, the poinsettia is the flower of Christmas. I love these beautiful plants but can never seem to keep them alive. I decided to create a poinsettia I could wear. No green thumb required.
Step 1: Choose two of the small flowers from Tim Holtz idea-ology Adornments Floral. These two flowers will be layered on top of each other to form the poinsettia. Coat each flower with ICE Resin Iced Enamels Medium.
Step 3: Use the paper to put any leftover powder back in the container to use again on another project. Heat both flowers with a heat tool until the powder is melted. Sit aside and allow to cool. While the flowers cool, find a background paper you would like to use.
Step 4: I chose a design from Tim Holtz idea-ology Collage Mini Stash. Then, using the Industrial Bezel template, trace the shape of your bezel.
Step 5: Next decide which of the flowers you are going to put on the top. Use yellow acrylic paint and dab dots in the center of the flower. Mix ICE Resin® according to instructions, and allow the indicated wait time. Take a small amount of resin and paint the back of your paper. Lay the paper in the bezel. This will help cut down on any large bubbles in your resin. Layer flowers in bezel with the flower containing yellow dots on top. Carefully drizzle resin in to fill bezel. Check to make sure no bubbles form in your resin and allow to cure for three days.
Once cured, I add a few crystal beads and a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Joyful Christmas word stick. Now I can carry the holiday season with me no matter where I go.
